Celebrity Augmentations Gone Wrong — Tips From Dr. Lips

4 May

What do Nikki Cox, Lisa Rinna and Dolly Parton all have in common? They all suffer from giant duck lips.

To help us understand how this happened, we’ve enlisted the help of Dr. Robert Gordon a.k.a “Dr. Lips”, an experienced cosmetic dentist, whose passion for lip augmentation has landed him at the forefront of his field.

Check out his expert commentary on the before-and-after photos to learn where these celebs went wrong and how to avoid the same mistakes.

Nikki Cox: The before and after demonstrates lips that have indeed been augmented, as well as potential for dental veneering. The combination of the two leads to a fuller dental arch, which accounts for the unfortunate stretched-out appearance she’s achieved. On top of that, her lips have been over-augmented, which flatten the lips and cover nearly all of her teeth.

Lisa Rinna: Again, these lips have been over-augmented, which has led to a wrinkling and unnatural look. But what is most disturbing is that the bottom and upper lips are equal in mass – the most unattractive, unnatural-looking lips are the ones that are equally proportioned. The upper lip should be smaller or larger than the bottom lip, depending on the desired lip style.

Dolly Parton: This unfortunate case has more to do with poor dental work than lip proportion. Her gum line has virtually disappeared in her recent photo, which makes for an unattractive look. It is also apparent that she’s had some lip and facial fillers as her smile lines are less defined now than they are in her younger photo.

While these women may make you want to run for the hills when someone mentions lip augmentation, it can be a wonderful thing. Women who adorn their lips with cosmetics or choose augmentation can have a natural and vital result. It’s all about picking the right professional, materials and techniques that will ensure sexy, sultry lips at any age.
